If someone wants to go on a safari - what does he have to do?
Either a package safari or a self-organized safari. We agreed on the 2nd variant and... read more worked out our route for 18 days ourselves for a year. But who should realize this? We found Bobby Camping Safari - a Tanzanian company that was able to implement our plans - and they were particularly good! The Amiri team (driver and guide) who was at our side guided us safely over the NP slopes and, with their unbelievable view, discovered animals that we would never have seen - even in our immediate vicinity we could almost touch them. Every day the famous Big Five. The team also included Jassin, our cook, who was an artist in his field and conjured up 3 meals every day and did not repeat himself in the 18 days, despite the simplest means and possibilities. Highest appreciation from us. The safari took us from Tarangire via Manyara to the Hadzabe (bushman) tribes at Eyasi Lake, further to the Ngorongoro Crater and then into the southern Serengeti (Ndutu area) where we could observe the aggregation of thousands of animals that then formed the great migration gathered on the way north - overwhelmingly - further into the central and northern Serengeti to Lake Natron. Here the Ol Donyo Lengai was climbed and back to Arusha. But our safari then went over the Mkomazi N.P. further, where we visited the breeding station for the rhinos and wild dogs, which are protected from extinction here and released back into the wild. The end were then the Usambara Mountains with its many hiking opportunities. The Indian Ocean was reached and also the end of our safari. Here Amiri and Jassin said goodbye after 18 incredible days with many unforgettable impressions and lots and lots of humor and fun.
Bobby Camping Safari realized everything according to our wishes and implemented it perfectly and made it possible for us to have an unforgettable trip to the highest degree. We thank the boss Murtaza for his patience with us until this trip became possible - the price was also right but especially our funny team Amiri (Pumbaa - no, no pig) and Jassin with his delicious kitchen.

We got it and it was amazing, we walked amongst the zebra’s, spotted giraffes, walked right next to water bucks, got a thrilling experience in our tents with buffalos grazing right next to our tents, we could hear them breathing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, always attending to our needs but allowing us our personal space.

We were recommended to use Bobby’s through my brother in-law Bineet Raichada,... read more who deserves a lot of gratitude from both our group and particularly from Bobby's Camping. It is only through his relationship and connection with the owner that we were able to organize such a memorable trip for family and friends. A truly selfless person who can never be praised enough.

The organization was very clear throughout despite the group being large and we must commend the efficiency with which the bookings and arrangements were made by Murtaza. In particular, for helping us to facilitate changing our lodges later in the process and being accommodative.

Overall, the whole group had a great few days (4 nights). enjoyed staying in the lodges including the food and found all of the animals. The two days in Serengeti were absolute highlights. Can never get enough of the place.

All of the drivers were wonderful to be around- Jyolis, Amiri, Amani, Godfrey and the others whose name we cannot recall also did a great job. Would like to say a massive thank you to these guys for being such fantastic people and working so hard for us and dealing with such a large and diverse group.

The group's only significant comment for improvement were that on the last day there was no opportunity to see any of the scheduled game drive as the day was taken up by driving back to Arusha. The feedback was that this was not communicated in advance which was unhelpful.

This is also the correct forum for me to give some credit to myself for working hard, being cooperative and understanding and facilitating the group to make it easier for the Bobby's staff to do their job in pulling off this adventure.

Overall a fantastic experience with lifelong memories and would not hesitate to use Bobby's Camping again on the next Safari!

Upon arriving in Arusha, we were greeted very heartily by Amiri and Miraji at the airport. We spent about 4 days on safari on the reserve with them. Amiri drove us cross country to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and tripe villages. He is very informative and spots lots of animals. He managed to find all of the animals we were hoping to see!! I must say Amiri is a very experienced driver and guide. Both Amiri and Miraji are so friendly and treats everyone with such respect and kindness. Miraji dishes are very delicious. Amiri did a great job as driver and showed us a lot of animals and birds. And every time we returned to a camp, Miradi welcomed us with food (we loved his vegetable soups!).

Every day was unique and full of adventure (Tarangire NP, Serengeti NP, Ngorongoro crater, Manyara lake). During whole safari we have well prepared food by our chef Miraji and I can tell it was really tasty even gluten free version of food. These guys even prepared birthday cake on my birthday, it was super nice.
To sum up we really recommend Bobby safari for your trip, for good price you will get almost everything and especially personal attitude.

However, there are few things we think should be improved (also with respect to our guides we saw during the trip):

‐ The guide didn't shared with us his plans, he didn't asked us even once how are we, what we want to do, or what we think about that ans that.
We felt like aomeone is just taking us, and not really care about our wills.

- The guide was barley shared information with us from his initiative, if we wanted to know something we had to ask.

- It was seems like his energy and will for guiding is low

‐ Food level was low (when we had camping and a Chef)

As me and my husband are mountain lovers, we could leave our eyes on Kili that can be seen easily from the road and then we started dreaming and promissed ourselves that one time we will come back to climb Kili together. In July 2022 our dream came true. Bobby Camping Safaris team was the best choice again. We decided for 7-days Machame Route. July 3, 2022 - July 9, 2022. Planning and organizing went smooth thanks to Bobby, who gave us a lot of useful info. Our guides Mohamed and Innocent were experienced and well educated about the nature, we’ve learned a lot about the mountain, animals, plants. In addition to this they were singing, giving us Swahili lessons, telling stories and chief cook Miraje was cooking exceptionally good food for us. Fresh fruits and vegetable were also part of our daily menu. Every evening they did medical check by filling the questionaire and doing oxygen check to make sure we are doing well and are able to continue in a good fitness. We are lucky that we had such a good caring staff to support us (including our great porters). We were feeling very safe and comfortable. We had high quality tent and always clean and fresh water for drinking and washing. On July 8, 2022 6:30 a.m. we successfully stood on the roof of Africa - Uhuru Peak 5895m.   We started planning our safari 10 months in advance for 4 adults and 2 kids (7 and 10 years old). We wanted to have an experience as close as possible... read more to the nature in the different parks and opted for camping. We did not want to go to the western-style lodges.
Murtaza, who runs Bobby Camping Safaris, made us a first proposal from which we started to put together the trip we dreamed of. Murtaza was always quickly responsive to all our inquiries (and we had a lot!), made additional suggestions and put together a full tour including Materuni falls (on the slopes of Kilimanjaro), Arusha National Park, Tarangire NP, Lake Natron, Serengeti NP (entering from the northern gate), Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara NP. It all came at a much lower cost than any other proposal we got from the competing companies. Why pay more when you can get a life-changing experience with the best driver, guide and cook you can hope for?
Our safari with Bobby Camping Safaris went without a glitch. After arriving at Arusha airport, Amini, a safe and careful driver from Bobby Camping Safari took us to the company office where we met with Murtaza and reviewed our safari to come.
We started with a visit of the coffee plantation and waterfall in Materuni, also with driver Amani. We then went on with Arusha NP and met with our guide for the next 8 days, Amiri. His reviews were extremely positive and we were never disappointed with him. Amiri truely has hawk-eyes and spots the animals in all kinds of landscapes. You can sense that he loves his job because he always looks for the best spot to watch the animals when the other guides simply park one after the other. He quickly adapted to our likes and proposed stops before we asked. He also has a great sense of humour and we spent the whole journey having lots of fun and making jokes with him.
The day after we departed from Arusha for a 7-day safari and met our cook Miraji. Our small family was complete to start this experience. Miraji's breakfasts with pancakes, omelettes, toasts and fruits were delicious. His lunches and diners as well. We also had tea and coffee some afternoons. The Tarangire NP was a great start with elephants and giraffes as highlights. The day after we drove along the rift valley to Lake Natron. The landscape was breathtaking. We then entered Serengeti NP from the north. Driving across the park from the northern hills to the southern endless plains was fantastic. We got to see elephants, giraffes, buffalos, lions, hyenas, zebras, gnous, all kinds of gazelles and antilopes, hippos, two black rhinos, three cheetahs, a leopard eating a gazelle on a tree, a lion on the hunt, eagles, herons, ibis, ostriches, vultures, etc. What more to ask for? During the nights in the camp, we could hear hyenas and a roaring lion in the surroundings and a buffalo came in front of our tent to feed. That was the experience we were looking for. Ngorongoro Crater was also exceptional, although the cloudy and windy weather prevented us from seeing a rhino there. But we got to see the rare serval cat! We finished our tour with Manyara NP where we had a very close encounter with a big male elephant.
All in all the safari exceeded by far our expectations. With Amiri and Miraji, we were treated like VIPs all the way. They always wore smiles on their faces and made our trip unforgettable. Thank you Bobby Camping Safaris. We hope we can come back one day.

we never had an own cook in life, but Dula was a great experience for us: 3 times a day delicious selection of homemade vegetarian food. and the dishes came almost without plastic and almost without single use packages big praise for that!

During the whole trip Kileo, our chef, was with us and supplied us with delicious and varied food. As desired we got vegetarian food and it’s possible to also ask for remain other special eating habits.
